Primitive camping in high desert terrain at the Del Norte (North) Unit. Features 8 drive-up primitive campsites and 2 hike-in sites (1.5-2 miles from parking lot), all without water or electricity. A group barracks with shower facilities and composting toilets provides basic amenities. Terrain ranges 1,300-2,080 feet elevation across open landscape with minimal shade. Requires carrying all supplies; reservations required. Swimming and fishing available at the Devils River and Amistad Reservoir access.
