Mile 12 Paddlers Camp provides a stopping point along the Devils River's North Unit for extended paddling trips through Val Verde County's 37,000-acre wilderness. Spring-fed clear water flows past rugged ridges and scenic canyons bordered by brushy banks. Campsites are primitive with minimal shade; visitors must be entirely self-sufficient, packing all supplies including water and packing out all waste. Surrounding landscape rises to 2,080 feet with over 25 miles of hiking and biking trails.
