Remote 37,000-acre natural area spanning Edwards Plateau, Tamaulipan mezquite, and Chihuahuan Desert ecosystems in Val Verde County, elevation 1,300–2,080 ft. Primitive hike-in sites feature composting toilets and minimal shade. Bring all water and supplies; strict leave-no-trace required. The whitewater Devils River includes Dolan Falls, Texas's highest-volume waterfall, and supports three-day floating trips through pristine backcountry.
