Martin Dies Jr. State Park's Hen House Ridge Unit sits deep in East Texas Pineywoods where the Angelina and Neches rivers meet the Steinhagen Reservoir. Forested with pines, oaks, cypress, and magnolia trees, the park offers over 200 campsites across multiple loops, most with water and electric hookups. Amenities include screened shelters, cabin rentals, and a nature center with ranger programs. Paddle nearly 14 miles through sloughs and rivers, or hike and bike the extensive trail system. Fish for catfish and bass, swim in the lake and rivers, or spot deer, raccoons, bobcats, alligators, and herons in their natural habitat.
