Horseshoe Point Campground sits on the steep, rocky shores of Philpott Lake in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by mixed forests of oak, pine, and cedar, the park offers 15 campsites with water and electric hookups alongside 34 primitive sites. On-site amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, a swimming beach, a boat ramp, a dock, a picnic shelter, and a playground. Visitors explore the 2,900-acre lake by boat or kayak, fish for bass and walleye, or hike neighboring trails near Fairy Stone State Park.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

The Philpott Lake shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.5 miles off, a 49-site campground. Most of them shaded. Night skies measure Bortle 2 -- true dark-sky territory. The nearest town, Ferrum, is 7.3 mi off.

September normals 5880°F, 5.2″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
