Johnson Creek Campground sits along Lake O' the Pines in the Pineywoods region of east Texas. The park features 63 RV sites with water and electric, 22 tent sites (10 with power), and a separate group area with 12 RV sites and a covered pavilion. On-site amenities include restrooms with showers, trash facilities, a sewer dump station, a playground, a swimming beach, and a boat ramp. The 18,700-acre reservoir offers bank and boat fishing along Big Cypress Bayou, with birdwatching opportunities for resident species and wintering bald eagles.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

The Lake O' the Pines shoreline is 0.2 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.4 miles off, an 87-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 4 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. Most sites here have an electric hookup -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Jefferson, is 12 mi off.

September normals 6589°F, 3.7″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
