Backcountry camping at mile 275 along the Caprock Canyons Trailway, a 64-mile rail-trail through badlands at the Llano Estacado's eastern edge. The 17,500-acre park preserves the state's official bison herd, mule deer, 175+ bird species, and prairie dogs across terrain shaped by 10,000 years of human occupation. Use this base for hiking, biking, and horseback riding; Lake Theo nearby offers fishing and the historic 528-foot Clarity Tunnel anchors the landscape. Chemical restrooms on-site; no campfires allowed.
