Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, Cabin Creek Cabin sits at 8,700 feet in a conifer stand near Middle Fork Cabin Creek. The single-room rustic structure sleeps up to three people with one bunk bed platform and three cots. Inside, you will find a wood heating stove, table and chairs, and basic cooking utensils, while an outdoor vault toilet and hitching rail sit nearby. There is no electricity, drinking water, or provided firewood. Trailheads adjacent to the site enter the Lee Metcalf Wilderness and climb toward Monument Peak.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Secluded here -- the nearest through road is 3.4 miles off, a single-site campground. White Peak stands 1,720 ft above the site, 1.7 miles north. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, West Yellowstone, is 16 mi off.
