Beaver Creek Cabin is a rustic Forest Service shelter set at 7,000 feet in a wooded canyon beneath 11,316-foot Hilgard Peak. The single-room cabin features a sleeping loft, two bunk beds, a heating stove, and a table with chairs to accommodate up to five people. Outside, guests will find a hitching rail for stock, but no electricity or drinking water is provided. Trailheads near the cabin lead directly into the surrounding Lee Metcalf Wilderness and high mountain lakes of the Madison Range, with Hebgen Lake located within 10 miles.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Boat Mountain stands 2,058 ft above the site, 1.4 miles southeast. A body of water lies 0.2 mi off. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, West Yellowstone, is 21 mi off.
