All 25.1 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly graded dirt, with 4.1 miles of dirt. Climbs 5,600 ft over 25.1 miles -- sustained grades near 16%, with pitches to 39%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~250 ft on the downhill side. Little level ground alongside -- few of the stretches measured have a flat spot to pull onto. Winds through 25 switchbacks.
Middle Fork Satsop River runs 0.3 mi off. South Mountain stands 2,372 ft above the site, 4.2 miles east. The nearest town, Shelton, is 17 mi off.
