A 13.6-mile stretch of graded dirt National Forest road in Mason County, WA.

Olympic National Forest, Hood Canal Ranger District/Hoodsport allows dispersed camping here. Camp at least 200 ft from water.

All 13.6 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly graded dirt, with 0.7 miles of dirt. Climbs 2,000 ft over 13.6 miles -- sustained grades near 16%, with pitches to 37%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~190 ft on the downhill side. Little level ground alongside -- few of the stretches measured have a flat spot to pull onto. Winds through 18 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.

Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. Canyon River runs 0.6 mi off. Travellers have camped along here. Anderson Butte stands 2,324 ft above the site, 6.1 miles northwest. The nearest town, Shelton, is 19 mi off.
