Camping area overlooking a 1,680-acre reservoir near Laredo in the Tamaulipan mezquital ecoregion—mesquite and palo verde dominate the dry landscape. Area J offers waterfront access for fishing largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, and catfish, plus boating and water-skiing. All campsites include water and electric hookups, with some featuring sewer connections. Nearby activities include hiking, biking, and birding in this subtropical Texas landscape minutes from the Mexican border.
