Balmorhea State Park sits in the high desert of West Texas at 3,205 feet elevation, featuring arid terrain, mountain views, and restored desert wetlands called cienegas. The park centers on a 1.3-acre spring-fed pool fed by San Solomon Springs, maintaining 72–76 degrees year-round with depths to 25 feet. The 34-site campground includes historic motel-style San Solomon Courts rooms built by the CCC in the 1930s, plus scuba diving, snorkeling, picnic areas, and ranger programs.
