Hike-in primitive campsite H in the Texas Hill Country, nestled among Uvalde bigtooth maples on steep canyon terrain near Vanderpool in Real County. Access via 1–3.2-mile backpacking trail through rugged landscape. Composting toilet at site with access to Sabinal River and Can Creek for fishing. Over ten miles of park trails include a dramatic scenic loop along a 2,200-foot clifftop. Site accommodates maximum six people with backpacking-oriented setup. Park protects distinctive bigtooth maple forest with golden-cheeked warblers and seasonal wildflowers. Located near Bandera and Utopia; park opened to preserve rare maple forest.
