Primitive walk-in campground with three campsites only 25 yards from parking in the Hill Country. Each site holds up to eight people with picnic tables, fire rings, water access, and vault toilets. Located within 5,369 acres of rugged limestone terrain with eroded hills and mesas rising to 2,000 feet. Over 40 miles of multiuse trails crisscross the property for hiking, biking, and horseback riding through oak groves and creek bottoms. The area preserves former ranch land with visible heritage remnants accessible along interpretive trails. Established from Louise Merrick donations (1976–1982), opened to the public in 1984.
