Meridian State Park sits in the Hill Country 50 miles northwest of Waco, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933-34. The park's 505 acres center on 72-acre Lake Meridian, a no-wake lake ringed by limestone bluffs and scenic outlooks. Juniper Ridge Campground provides seven sites for tents and RVs in a lakefront setting. The park offers full-hookup and primitive campsites, screened shelters, and three cabins. Over 5 miles of hiking trails traverse rolling woods and limestone terrain. Swimming, fishing, and paddling on the lake are central to the experience; an ADA-accessible fishing pier serves shore-bound anglers, and kayak rentals are available.
