Meridian State Park sits in the Hill Country 50 miles northwest of Waco, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933-34. The park's 505 acres center on 72-acre Lake Meridian, a no-wake lake surrounded by limestone bluffs and scenic overlooks. Cottonwood Cove is a group camping area by the lake offering tent-only spaces. The park has full-hookup and primitive campsites, screened shelters, and three cabins across multiple campground areas. Over 5 miles of hiking trails wind through rolling woods, and an ADA fishing pier provides lake access. Swimming, fishing, and kayaking are available year-round; single kayaks available for rent.
