This small U.S. Forest Service campground is set among ponderosa pines directly along the Scenic Middle Fork of the John Day River. Designed with individual campsites featuring picnic tables, fire rings, and trailer parking, the property includes centrally located accessible vault toilets. Anglers and wildlife watchers come here for direct river access, particularly to fish and view spawning steelhead. Hikers and hunters also use the grounds as a launch point for exploring nearby routes like the Davis Creek, Vinegar Hill Indian Rock, Sunrise Butte, and Tempest Mine trails.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
