Designated sites only

U.S. Forest Service allows overnight stays only at the designated sites here.

Pine Creek Campground sits in the Douglas fir and spruce foothills of the Absaroka Mountains, 13 miles south of Livingston. The site features single-family campsites, a group overnight loop, and a day-use group picnic area, supported by vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. An accessible nature trail winds for half a mile along Pine Creek, and an accessible dock provides stream fishing for trout. The nearby Pine Creek Trailhead leads hikers and horse riders five miles up to Pine Creek Lake, passing Pine Creek Falls one mile from the campground.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Private here -- the nearest through road is 3.4 miles off, a 27-site campground. Most of them shaded. Crow Mountain stands 1,623 ft above the site, 3.1 miles southwest. The nearest town, Pray, is 19 mi off.

September normals 3357°F, 2.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
