Palisades Campground sits at the end of unpaved Palisades Road #2010 near Red Lodge, positioned below Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort and the palisades rock formation. It offers six sites with a 16-foot maximum trailer length, accessible vault toilets, and select bear-resistant food lockers. The Willow Creek Trail (#105) and Palisades Trail (#109) leave directly from the west end of the loop. Firewood and trash services are not provided.
All 0.7 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Mostly graded dirt, with 0.1 miles of dirt. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
Grizzly Peak stands 3,082 ft above the site, 2.4 miles west. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. A pond lies 1.1 mi off. The nearest town, Red Lodge, is 3.2 mi off.
