May Creek Cabin is a restored early 1900s miner's shelter situated at 6,600 feet at the base of the Anaconda Mountain Range on May Creek. Located along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, the one-room cabin sleeps four on bunk beds with foam mattresses. Indoor furnishings include a wood-burning heat stove, propane cooktop, table, benches, utensils, and seasonal firewood (Sept 16–June 15), while an outhouse is located outside. Access requires a two-mile hike or ski from May Creek Campground, with no electricity or piped water on site.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Private here -- the nearest through road is 1.2 miles off, a single-site campground. Cabins and shelters rather than pads. West Fork Stevenson Creek runs 1.2 mi off. The nearest town, Salmon, is 33 mi off.
