Hogan Cabin is a 1920s one-room log shelter sitting at 7,300 feet along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The rustic structure sleeps four on bunk beds with mattresses and features a table, chairs, propane stove, propane lantern, cookware, and a wood-burning heat stove. Outside, guests have access to a campfire ring with a grill and an outhouse vault toilet. Firewood is provided from mid-September through mid-June. The site has no electricity or running water, requiring all water to be packed in.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
Prairie Creek runs 0.3 mi off. Cabins and shelters rather than pads -- most of them shaded. Saddle Mountain stands 1,854 ft above the site, 5.0 miles west. The nearest town, Salmon, is 37 mi off.
