Set at 10,500 feet elevation in San Isabel National Forest, Blue Lake Campground borders a tributary of the Cuchara River amidst aspen and spruce woods. It features 16 rustic campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, supported by drinking water and vault toilets. Blue Lake sits a half-mile away and Bear Lake is one mile away, offering stocked fishing and connecting hiking trails. Rough jeep trail FSR 436 sits across the road, leading toward Trinchera Peak.
