Coyote Point sits along the shoreline of New Hogan Lake in the brush-covered Sierra Nevada foothills. The facility features a single group campsite for up to 50 guests, equipped with a large grill, picnic shelter, campfire ring, and vault toilets. The 4,400-acre reservoir draws visitors for powerboating, water skiing, and fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish. Nearby recreation areas host two 18-hole disc golf courses, a launch ramp, and the River of Skulls hiking trail, which connects to an eight-mile equestrian loop and a three-mile bike trail linking to Acorn Campground.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

A body of water lies 0.3 mi off. A group campground -- one sits on the water, most of them shaded. Night skies measure Bortle 2 -- true dark-sky territory. The nearest town, Rancho Calaveras, is 10 mi off.

September normals 5688°F, 0.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
