Located half a mile from the McKinley Grove of Giant Sequoias, Gigantea Campground features shaded sites set among cedar, fir, and sugar pine trees. The terrain consists of mixed sloped and flat areas, accessed via a combination of paved and dirt roads. Each individual site is furnished with a picnic table and a outdoor grill. Visitors must pack out their own garbage and bring their own supply of water, as no trash collection or drinking water services are provided on site.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Nelson Mountain stands 3,895 ft above the site, 6.0 miles northeast. Deer Creek runs 1.2 mi off. The nearest town, Auberry, is 20 mi off.
