Buckeye Flat Campground sits at 2,800 feet elevation in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Sequoia National Park, perched directly above the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River beneath a canopy of large live oaks. The facility offers 27 tent-only campsites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and food storage lockers, with flush toilets and drinking water available on site. Located six miles from the Ash Mountain entrance, it provides direct access to river canyon scenery and foothill terrain.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Overhead clearance here is posted at 9 ft -- the tightest site sets the limit. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.

Moro Rock stands 3,779 ft above the site, 1.6 miles north. Paradise Creek runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, a 28-site campground. Mostly tent-only sites -- 8 sit on the water, most of them shaded. The nearest town, Three Rivers, is 9.3 mi off.

September normals 6287°F, 0.2″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
