Horseshoe Bend Park sits along the Saline River just below Dierks Dam, beneath a 300-foot vertical cliff in the Ouachita region. The campground features 12 riverfront Class A sites, a day-use pavilion, a playground, two restrooms, and a shower building. Its primary draw is a three-quarter-mile white-water course made from native river stone, offering Class II to Class IV drops engineered for paddlers during dam releases. The steep, wooded surroundings sit 30 miles from Crater of Diamonds State Park and an hour from Hot Springs National Park.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

The Dierks Lake shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 12-site campground. Most sites here have an electric hookup -- 13 sit on the water, most of them shaded. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, De Queen, is 16 mi off.

September normals 6186°F, 4.0″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
