Built in 1934 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Jack Creek Guard Station is a one-room rustic log cabin sitting at 8,500 feet elevation in a forest clearing of aspen and lodgepole pine. The cabin sleeps up to four guests on two sets of bunk beds and includes a wood/propane combination cook stove, table, chairs, cooking utensils, and propane lighting. There is no indoor plumbing, but an outdoor summer water hydrant is on site along with a vault toilet, picnic table, and campfire ring. Pack-in, pack-out trash rules apply, and additional campers or tents are not allowed.
