All 31.6 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 3.8 miles of dirt. Climbs 5,300 ft over 31.6 miles -- sustained grades near 16%, with pitches to 41%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~140 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 24 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch.
Little Huckleberry Mountain stands 2,909 ft above the site, 2.4 miles west. Travellers have camped along here. The nearest town, Carson, is 14 mi off.
