Cave Mountain Lake Group Picnic Shelter is a Civilian Conservation Corps structure built in the 1930s, set beside a 7-acre lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The non-accessible shelter holds up to 50 people and features electricity for lights, a fireplace, eight picnic tables, a grill, trash cans, and a drinking fountain. Flush toilets and showers are located nearby at the beach bathhouse. Panther Knob Trail begins at the shelter, and the 35-foot dam frames a sandy swimming beach.
