Westwater Campground sits directly along the Colorado River next to the Westwater Ranger Station, surrounded by red Navajo Sandstone walls. The facility features 11 campsites, each equipped with parking for two vehicles, a picnic table, a fire ring, vault toilets, and trash receptacles. Water may be available seasonally. Serving as the primary launch point for the Westwater Canyon rapids and the take-out for the Ruby-Horsethief flatwater stretch, it offers immediate river access. The 140-mile Kokopelli’s mountain bike trail passes just to the north.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. BLM plans this as maintained for passenger cars -- condition unverified. Recorded as graded dirt, pitching to 2%. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

Colorado River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, an 11-site campground. One sits on the water. The nearest town, Loma, is 18 mi off.

September normals 5086°F, 1.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
