South Primitive Area is a 100-acre wooded camping zone within Dinosaur Valley State Park along the Paluxy River in Glen Rose. Semi-rocky, wooded terrain supports equestrian use and hiking trails. The river bed displays Cretaceous-era dinosaur footprints accessible to visitors. The park offers fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and mountain biking across 20 miles of trails.
