Village Creek State Park serves as the Big Thicket gateway along one of Texas's few free-flowing creeks. The landscape spans arid sandy lands and bottomland swamps with eight miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Amenities include fishing for catfish, bass, and sunfish, kayak and canoe rentals, tent and RV campsites, an eight-person cabin, and a group pavilion. Alligators inhabit the waterways.
