Hawthorn is one of five camping loops within Isle du Bois, a major 178-site unit on Ray Roberts Lake's south shore in Denton County. The 22,500-acre freshwater lake offers fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, and catfish. Spacious tree-shaded campsites include electric (30 and 50-amp) and primitive options suitable for RVs and tents. Isle du Bois amenities include a five-lane boat ramp, over 2 miles of concrete trails for hiking and biking, a designated swimming beach, restrooms with hot showers, two marinas with rentals, and fish cleaning stations.
