Waxmyrtle Campground sits eight miles south of Florence within Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, bordered by thick coastal shrubs, shore pine, and the Siltcoos River Estuary. Campsites feature paved parking aprons, picnic tables, and fire rings, with shared access to drinking water and flush toilets. The campground serves as the trailhead for the Waxmyrtle Trail, which runs along the river directly to the Pacific ocean beach. Non-motorized sand dunes and the Lagoon and Chief Tsiltcoos hiking trails are located nearby.

All 0.5 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Paved the whole way in (0.5 miles). Sits on broad, near-level ground.
