Umpqua Sand Camping Area offers dispersed primitive camping set on open sand dunes near the Umpqua River and Pacific Ocean. Accessible only by 4X4 vehicles over soft sand, the area features standard sites for 20 people and 5 vehicles, as well as group sites for 40 people and 10 vehicles. No water or restrooms are available, so campers must supply drinking water, portable toilets, and fire pans. Camping is restricted to within 150 feet of site posts. Off-road enthusiasts use the site to reach expansive riding terrain, while Umpqua Lighthouse State Park sits just to the north.
