Designated sites only

U.S. Forest Service allows overnight stays only at the designated sites here.

Hauser Sand Camping Area provides 25 primitive, dispersed sand campsites set directly within the dunes of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, backed by coastal forest and near the Pacific Ocean. Standard sites host up to 20 people and 5 vehicles, while group sites accommodate up to 40 people and 10 vehicles. All sites require 4X4 access in soft sand. Campers must bring their own drinking water, fire pans, and portable toilets, and must stay within 150 feet of designated site markers. Off-road vehicle trails like the Hauser Beach route provide access to open riding zones and beaches.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, a 25-site campground. A river runs 0.3 mi off. Mostly tent-only sites. Night skies measure Bortle 2 -- true dark-sky territory. The nearest town, Saunders Lake, is 2.4 mi off.
