Red Mountain Campground sits along the lower Madison River, positioned roughly halfway between Warm Springs boat launch and Black's Ford Fishing Access Site. It provides direct river access for trout fishing, floating, and inner-tubing. The site features 19 campsites with picnic tables, drinking water, three accessible vault toilets, and a horseshoe pit. While there is no boat launch directly on site, several ramps are nearby. Firewood is available for purchase when the seasonal host is present. Bear Trap Canyon and Norris Hot Springs are short drives away.
Road difficulty 2 of 5 -- a moderate drive in. BLM plans this as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles -- condition unverified. Recorded as graded dirt, pitching to 8%. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
