Spire Rock Campground sits at 5,600 feet in Gallatin Canyon along Storm Castle Creek, a tributary of the Gallatin River. Set under spruce and fir trees, the facility features gravel roads and single-family sites along with a larger group area. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets are on site, but there is no drinking water, so bring your own. The Gallatin River draws anglers casting for trout and grayling alongside kayakers and rafters. Nearby, the steep Storm Castle Trail climbs three miles to Storm Castle Rock for expansive views over the canyon.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Garnet Mountain stands 2,731 ft above the site, 1.0 miles south. Purdy Creek runs 0.2 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 20-site campground. Most of them shaded. The nearest town, Big Sky, is 14 mi off.

September normals 4368°F, 2.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
