Window Rock Cabin was built in 1940 and sits nestled among evergreen forests in Hyalite Canyon along Hyalite Creek. The single-room retreat sleeps four on twin beds with mattresses and features a wood stove used for both heating and cooking. Outside, guests have access to a campfire ring, a six-horse corral, and an accessible vault toilet. The cabin lies a mile from Hyalite Reservoir for non-motorized boating and trout fishing, with nearby access to Hyalite Peak waterfall trails. Guests must supply their own drinking water, trash bags, bedding, and matches.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Sleeping Giant Mountain stands 2,121 ft above the site, 0.9 miles southeast. Cabins and shelters rather than pads. The Hyalite Reservoir shoreline is 0.7 mi off. The nearest town, Pray, is 15 mi off.

September normals 4266°F, 2.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
