Chisholm Campground sits at 6,700 feet elevation among pine and fir trees next to Hyalite Reservoir and East Fork Hyalite Creek. The site features picnic tables, fire rings, accessible toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. Visitors come to fish the creek and reservoir for trout and grayling, non-motorized boat or canoe on the lake, and hike canyon routes such as the 7.5-mile Hyalite Peak Trail.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Palisade Mountain stands 2,684 ft above the site, 1.6 miles east. The Hyalite Reservoir shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 10-site campground. Most of them shaded. The nearest town, Bozeman, is 15 mi off.
