Cross Lake Recreation Area sits under tall pines on the eastern shore of Cross Lake, part of the 13-lake Whitefish Chain along the Mississippi River Headwaters. The campground features 122 sites, 97 of which have electric hookups. Onsite facilities include two accessible hot shower buildings, a boat ramp, floating docks, two picnic shelters, a dump station, a playground, and two accessible fishing piers on Cross Lake and the Pine River. The area provides access to 13,660 acres of water for swimming, boating, and fishing near the town of Crosslake.
