South Fork Campground sits in a forested canyon alongside the South Fork Clearwater River in the Nez Perce National Forest. The location features standard first-come, first-served sites alongside a reservable group site for up to 25 people, with space suitable for moderate RVs. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, tent pad, and paved parking spur, with vault toilets and seasonal drinking water on site. Outdoor enthusiasts come to pick seasonal berries and fish the river for trout, salmon, and his-season steelhead along the scenic Highway 14 corridor.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.
Sheep Ridge stands 2,363 ft above the site, 1.9 miles north. South Fork Clearwater runs 0.1 mi off. A group campground -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Grangeville, is 9.8 mi off.
