Willow Flat Campground sits at an elevation of 6,300 feet along the Cub River, surrounded by pine, spruce, and willow stands. The facility offers numerous single-family campsites alongside six group sites accommodating 24 to 100 people, with select walk-in single sites accessed via footbridges across the river. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water, gravel spurs, select picnic shelters, and an amphitheater at group site G03. Trailheads for the Cub River Trail and a 1/2-mile nature trail to Sam Parkinson Spring originate within the grounds.

All 0.9 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Gravel the whole way in (0.9 miles).

Bloomington Peak stands 3,219 ft above the site, 2.8 miles northeast. Cub River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.2 miles off, a 54-site campground. Most of them shaded. The nearest town, Preston, is 13 mi off.
