Amity Recreation Area is a wooded day-use facility set in a mixed pine and hardwood forest along the shores of J. Strom Thurmond Lake. The grounds feature three reservable group picnic shelters holding up to 92 guests each, along with a boat ramp, fishing pier, swimming area, ball field, and playground. The 70,000-acre reservoir gives visitors access to boating, water skiing, canoeing, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. Augusta, Georgia, sits 20 miles away, offering museums, art galleries, and dining.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

The Clarks Hill Lake shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Lincolnton, is 10 mi off.

September normals 6386°F, 3.7″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
