Elrod Ferry Recreation Area is a 39-acre day-use park located on a shaded point overlooking Hartwell Lake near Hartwell Dam on the Georgia-South Carolina border. The site features 37 individual picnic sites alongside two standard picnic shelters with water and electric service. Recreational infrastructure includes three designated swimming beaches, a boat ramp, a courtesy dock, two playgrounds, a volleyball pit, and two comfort stations. The park functions purely as a day-use venue focused on boating, water sports, and swimming along the reservoir's shoreline.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

The Lake Hartwell shoreline is 0.1 mi off. Private here -- the nearest through road is 1.3 miles off. Night skies measure Bortle 4 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. The nearest town, Hartwell, is 4.2 mi off.

September normals 6283°F, 4.1″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
