Thirty Mile Campground sits in a shaded meadow of mature spruce and aspen between the Rio Grande River and Squaw Creek, one mile from the Rio Grande Reservoir in the San Juan Mountains. Sites accommodate both tents and trailers with available drinking water and firewood for purchase, though no electrical hookups or horse trailers are permitted. The grounds sit directly across from the Weminuche Wilderness, providing immediate access to the Squaw Creek and Weminuche Pass trailheads, which connect to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail.
