Located just north of U.S. Highway 160 on Forest Road 621, Lower Piedra Campground sits along the west side of the Piedra River between Bayfield and Pagosa Springs. The site provides 17 large, level, heavily shaded campsites with direct access to river fishing.
All 0.4 miles in are maintained for passenger cars. Gravel the whole way in (0.4 miles).
Mule Mountain stands 2,333 ft above the site, 2.1 miles northeast. Piedra River runs 0.1 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off, a 4-site campground. The nearest town, Bayfield, is 14 mi off.
