Ben Ries Campground sits in a secluded redwood canyon along Little Butano Creek in Butano State Park near Pescadero. The 39-acre campground offers 21 drive-in sites and 18 walk-in sites, each with tables, food lockers, and fire rings. Restrooms and potable water are on-site. Named after park supervisor Benjamin Ries, who died in an accident here in 1961, the camp anchors a park with 40 miles of hiking trails through 4,728 acres of old-growth redwood forest. Maximum RV length is 24 feet.
