Tamarisk Grove Campground occupies 27 sites within Anza-Borrego Desert State Park's Colorado Desert landscape. The site features striking shade-providing tamarisk trees—imported from the Middle East—alongside native cacti and ocotillo. Tent sites have picnic tables beneath ramadas and fire pits; 11 rustic cabins with sleeping platforms sleep four each. Flush toilets and coin-operated showers are available; bring drinking water or purchase from camp hosts. Originally a 1930s San Diego County prison camp, the grounds connect to hiking trails accessing Yaqui Well and desert vistas. Open October–May.
